Stokemill's founder has a solid background in the food ingredients, additives and technologies used in food & drinks processing globally as well as in non food applications such as cosmetics, paper manufacturing or pharmaceuticals (eg excipients); he gained extensive knowledge of food markets, is a full chain dairy and meat consultant in Europe and Americas markets; his skill set includes b2b market sizing across entire regions, industrial segmentation, macroeconomic analysis, distribution channels analysis, international event production and sponsorship management, buyer search, price intelligence projects and menu innovation for QSR leaders; his market and commercial expertise has more recently extended to bioethanol, biodiesel and biogas raw materials and by-products such as DDGS or glycerol; he has brokered deals in grain ethanol in bulk for use in chemical, medical, technical, fragrances, cosmetics and drinks sectors and has a good understanding of agricultural commodities and by-products, organic waste & bioenergy markets, compound feed, or fruits, vegetables and tubers. Combined with working experiences in bio-therapeutics production, R&D, sales and marketing in the biotechnology and medical diagnostics industries, he's versatile and comfortable developing new insights and starting projects into new sectors and markets. Recently he's trained to kickstart the SEO effort (digital marketing) at Stokemill and writes about those overseas markets, technologies and industries he's had a hand in (see Stokemill Data's blog). He has a BS in biology and a MSc in biotechnology from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and a MBA from SDA Bocconi (Milan, Italy). He's multilingual and passionate about languages and culture, but far from complacent: mastering languages requires hard work and much persistence.
